The arch of the foot
The arch of the foot is the central area of the foot’s bottom, between the ball and heel.
Causes of arch pain
Common causes of arch pain include:
-
Plantar fasciitis, which affects the tissue along the bottom of the foot.
-
Overpronation, or excessive inward rolling of the foot.
There are also other possible causes of arch pain, such as:
-
Cavus foot, or a high arch.
-
Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction.
-
Flat feet, also called fallen arches.
Lake Sammamish Foot & Ankle has on-site digital X-ray imaging. If an X-ray is needed to evaluate your arch pain, it can often be performed and reviewed during the same visit.
